An estimated...

e-Health is happening.  Even as Federal support hangs in the balance, even as the IT industry negotiates access and standards and even as the promised investment in interconnected healthcare is yet to materialise, e-Health is happening.

Doctors, healthcare professionals and hospital administrators have access to smart technologies that are transforming every industry and the business of health is certainly not going to be left behind.  Around the country, state health departments and area health networks are rolling out their own systems, designed to facilitate continuity of care, reduce errors and support enterprise.

But if there is no leadership at a federal level, no commitment to investment in national infrastructure, then these developments will happen in isolation and we will fail to reap the benefits of a co-ordinated e-health system.

There are significant upfront costs – some $6.3bn over the first 5 years – that cannot be borne by industry or suppliers.  However this investment - which is absolutely necessary to underpin health reform targets announced last month – will repay itself fourfold in the first eight years, retain valuable skills in Australia and develop significant and valuable IP within its stakeholders.

The Technology in Healthcare Summit is unique on the industry calendar in tackling the issue from both a policy and an implementation perspective.  We tell you what’s going to happen and we tell you what’s actually happening.  This is essential information for business and sales strategy and will enable you to position yourself in the market while making the right contacts on the ground.

About the 2nd Annual Technology in Healthcare Summit

The Technology in Healthcare Summit will return to Melbourne in November 2010.  The inaugural Summit was a redoubtable success with over 140 attendees who enjoyed over two days of case studies, policy analysis and expert insight.

The 2010 Summit will build on the success of this event with a wider cross section of speakers, international keynotes and interactive sessions.

The majority of the presentations will be case studies drawn from hospitals and area health services across Australia.  Innovative programs designed to improve the efficiency of health services and deliver real benefits to healthcare professionals and patients alike.

Make sure you act early to ensure your involvement at this pre-eminent industry forum
